focusing on Autumn events being held at restored railways. Nothing beats the
great sight, smell and atmosphere of working steam locos and beautifully
restored train stations of yesteryear. Loose yourself and re-live the
spirit and camaraderie of World War II and enjoy the various
steam weekends and diesel galas over the next few weeks. |

Ffestiniog Railway Victorian Weekend 7th to 9th October. We have been
running passenger trains since Victorian times and many of those older vehicles
have been lovingly preserved and restored, so what better way to show them off than to have a
weekend dedicated to that wonderful era? |

On Thursday 6th October The Strathspey Railway
and our catering partner will work together for a steamin’ Soup and Sandwich
Lunch Special, this is a really stunning steam trip with a difference. Proceeds from
all train seats and lunches purchased will be donated to the Marie Curie Highland Unit. |

On the 17th & 18th September the Dean Forest Railway
is proud to be hosting the National Railcar Convention. We will be joined by a
very special visitor called 'Iris'. Iris is a unique diesel railcar, being the
oldest of the first generation DMU's and on Sunday, the Forest
Prairie steam locomotive, 5541. |

and even the railways own ‘Butterley Bear’ to greet every passenger. Take
