Two Night Boutique Break for Two at Peckforton Castle 1098506

Booked for our Anniversary - sadly not able to offer any free upgrades - we stayed in room 109 which is a standard Classic room. Very clean and comfortable room. Added bonus of a free standing fan. Well equipped hospitality tray and well known toiletries in bathroom. In our opinion, the bathroom was a little tired (couple of cracked floor tiles and some mouldy sealant around bath) but lashings of hot water and big, fluffy bath sheets/towels. We ate in the Restaurant, as opposed to the brasserie. Found the menu layout quite strange but food was hot and delicious. Drinks were a little over priced though. Cooked Breakfast each morning was perfect too. All staff were very polite, professional and friendly. Well done! Despite a large wedding taking place on arrival, there were plenty of staff on duty to look after our every need and very surprisingly we were not disturbed by any noise in the evening.

The hotel is beautiful on the outside however, the room (501) was below the standard we would expect. The mattress was obviously old so there were a couple of protectors on, which made it hot and it creaked when you moved. Worse hotel bed we've ever slept on, even tried sleeping on the floor! No hotel info in the room so we only found the bars and library by chance. Hotel doesn't have many, if any amenities other than the restaurants. No gardens just a green out front which was in use my weddings most of the time. We asked when booking if there were weddings on and they said no, which was incorrect as there were weddings both days. Cheap nescafe coffee sachets in the room which is a pet peeve, esepcially for an expensive night's stay. Shower was nice but bathroom certainly needed some tlc and the screen popped back and hit me in the face. Reception didn't seem to care when we told them on check out. Only saving grace was the food, really lovely meal and breakfast. Would recommend stay somewhere else locally and come just for food.

The castle looked amazing and was set in nice grounds. The food in the main restaurant was fantastic and great value. The room was good but the bathroom was a little worn

Booked Friday to Sunday, but when we arrived we were told no drinks or food available after 5pm due to wedding, this should have been communicated upon booking not on arrival, so we had to get a taxi out. Second night we ate in the resterant, we ordered a bottle of wine only they never had it in stock, so they apologized after 10mins,so we were asked to choose another so we did , our starters had come and we had eaten the starter when the waiter came again to tell us the second choice was unavailable, as you can imagine the reaction was not good, but we felt so sorry for the waiter who was trying his best to resolve the issue which is clearly not his fault, The third choice was served and the food was very good, overall though I was not expecting all of the problems we had from a three rosette four star hotel, also the curtains were very dusty on the top and lamp shades very dusty again not what you would expect from a top hotel, but we made the most out of our stay and went for some nice walks.

Amazing experience in a real castle in a stunning location

The castle is simply spectacular, friendly and helpful staff from arrival to departure, our room was gorgeous, we paid extra for an upgrade and had plenty of room to relax and a lovely roll top bath. We dined in the 2010 restaurant-food was delicious and service was excellent. We took advantage of the valet service and bellboy to take our bags to the room. All in all a luxury weekend stay. Would certainly recommend.

A lovely stay in a stunning castle! Very friendly staff and great activities available on site! We reccomend the archery and air rifle shooting!
