St Paul’s Cathedral Visit with Afternoon Tea for Two at Marco Pierre White's New York Italian

The afternoon tea at Macro Pierre White's was a sumptuous affair. There was plenty of food provided which came with a glass of Prosecco and bottomless tea. The food was very tasty and enjoyable. The only downside was that there were only us and another couple enjoying this experience which meant the waiting staff once they had seated you seemed to forget about you. Definitely worth doing once.

My friend and I are both vegetarians, we didn't want mayonnaise, however it was added on the cheese roll so we only ate half of that. I booked this with Red letter day, there we no pastries, just a couple of macaroons and a very stale mini chocolate muffin which we tried and it was horrible. it would have been nicer to have a mini chocolate or lemon tart and a Victoria sponge or Danish pastries. The rolls would have been better if they were warmed up. we had a Mushroom roll on it's own, I feel it would have been nicer with cheese in it. Also the presentation was different to the photo, on Red Letter day the food came in a cube, however we had the food on a long flat stone, did not look as nice. It is a shame as the restaurant looked lovely, staff very helpful and friendly, just the food was a bit of a let down. I treated myself and my friend to this for my birthday, so not as good as I had hoped it would be.

Not a particularly special experience. Although the food tasted good and the staff were friendly, service was quite slow, the setting a bit drab, and the food very averagely presented (including triangular sandwiches seemingly made by a 3-year-old). I believe this venue has been recently renovated, but it didn’t feel this way, and the carpet had visible amounts of crumbs/food debris.

And enjoyable and relaxing afternoon tea in a lovely restaurant
