Spa Retreat with Afternoon Tea at Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel for Two

Lovely hotel and setting with friendly staff . Afternoon tea was lovely and use of spa facilities good with outdoor seating and loungers. If you are lucky you can park outside on the road for free .

The spa was very dark and gloomy and full of people. The changing rooms were tidy. The swimming pool was fine though. The cream tea was bit average but tasty all the same and we enjoyed sitting and chilling over that. Booking it all was all easy as long as you didn’t mind calling a few times, there was no online booking option.

The spa was nice and really lovely to be able to sit outside on sun loungers. The afternoon tea was disappointing. Took 45 minutes to serve us after our booking time. The sandwiches were stale and very scrimped filling. Only one small scone each. Cakes on top were nice. No offer of refill on tea. Tried to charge me for car park.

The hotel staff were 5 star. The spa itself could do with a deep clean I was very conscious that it was dirty. There was a bottle of spray to clean down seats after use but nothing to wipe with. Changing rooms were like school changing rooms. We had a nice time though, we sat in jacuzzi chatting mostly. Went to the bar which was reasonably priced. Afternoon tea was beautiful. Can't knock that at all.

This was a Christmas gift for my mum and she really enjoyed it.

The spa is very small, and noisy. There picture above is not the spa, but pool for the hotel guests. There was no where to sit and relax. A few chair seats by the pool only, all of which where being used when we arrived. The relaxation room held 4 loungers but dark lighting meant you could only lie there as due to the lighting you are unable to read. Didn't feel very relaxing due to the noise of the pool area This There wasn't the space to spend a relaxing day we spent about 2 hours max. The changing rooms are very small also only 2 changing cubicles and no space to change elsewhere in the changing area. However, the bar area upstairs is very nice. The Afternoon tea was also very nice. One further comment about the Red Letter Day offer would be locations available. When bought the offer was for 9 locations, when booking I was only able to choose from 5. Bournemouth being the nearest to me a good 95 miles away.

Lovely relaxing day. Afternoon tea was great staff were all very welcoming. So easy and well organised from start to finish.

Was very pleased with this, I bought it for my husband and we both loved it, the spa facilities were really nice and the afternoon tea was tasty,good value for money at £20pp

The changing rooms were very small (difficult to pass people) and lock was missing on the cubicle. They were very tired decorwise. The steam room wasn’t working properly. The rest was fine but it would be nice to have had somewhere to lie down and read - only chairs poolside and the loungers were in a dim relaxation room. Lots of food at tea. PS - the photo at the top of this review is not in the main spa area. I think we could have gone there but we weren’t told about it and not sure how we would have accessed it.
