Overview
For an adrenaline rush with a difference, look no further than a spot of land yachting in a field at Kent’s Lydd Airport. A fabulous shared experience for two, you’ll receive expert tutoring from an experienced instructor to get you up to speed, quite literally, on how to handle these exciting and unique sailing vehicles. After being kitted up with a helmet and gloves for protection, you'll be briefed on all the safety protocols and be schooled out onto the specially marked course. You’ll be shown a number of different manoeuvres to get you turning with ease before you know it. Then, when you're ready, the course will be made bigger for you to really gather pace and push the land yachts to the limits! A thoroughly enjoyable and unique thrill-seeking experience which was awarded TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice 2021.
What's included?
- All protective equipment for use during your experience
- Safety briefing and induction from your experienced instructor
- A practice session on the small course to learn the techniques and then a fast-paced racing session on a bigger course, one hour each altogether
What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences

- There is a £10pp supplement for weekends and bank holidays
- The driving experience is shared between two people, so you will receive an hour session each
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Maximum weight: 16 stone
- Please inform the supplier of any disabilities or medical conditions that may prevent you from participating
- You should wear suitable outdoor clothing
- You should allow approximately two hours and a half for the whole experience
- The supplier offers free off-road parking and the location has toilets and a café/restaurant and bar onsite

The event was great, although a bit more wind would have helped. I was a bit concerned that sailing experience was going to be needed but not at all. Easy to pick up. I was a bit surprised to be asked for £20 cash on arrival - I eventually gathered it was because we were sailing on a weekend but it would have been good to have been told beforehand. To be fair I hadn’t asked about costs but had assumed the voucher covered everything.

Experience for 2 was just right allowing each rider 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off
Instructor was excellent and the time flew by we will definitely do it again

Brilliant time land sailing..the first time we have tried this and everyone really enjoyed the challenge.Good clear instruction and safety talk to start then straight into land sailing which was as easy for the girls as the guys...nice flat open land and of course we had great weather and just the right amount of wind...Would recommend for everyone and any age

We had a great time! This is an exciting way to try something different: sailing on dry land. It is easy to learn and fun. Be prepared to be flexible with the booking and wait for the right weather conditions to have the best experience.

Experience was weather dependent & sadly we did have a drop in wind speed for a while but that didn't spoil our fun. We got a little bit of extra time at the end to compensate when the wind finally did pick up again. I would thoroughly recommend this experience, but wear gloves!
