Afternoon Tea for Two at Lastingham Grange 10799466

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at Lastingham Grange. What a delicious assortment of sandwiches and cakes - not to mention the warm, light as a feather scones. Service was impeccable and the beautiful surroundings, whether inside or outside in the lovely garden, were calm and peaceful. We will certainly return when we want another treat. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at this lovely old place. The service was excellent. However, the cakes were a bit basic but all in all a good experience.

The beautiful rural location, relaxing ambience, attentive service and extensive gardens makes Lastingham Grange a desirable off-the-beaten-track destination. Highlights of afternoon tea included the fresh salmon sandwich, the fresh raspberries in an 'adult' jelly, served with options of cafetière coffee and specialist loose-leaf teas. And Lastingham's piece-de-resistance is undoubtedly their fresh hot scones. Ours were flavoured with softened orange peel, unusual and delicious. We shall visit again.

Highly recommended enjoyable day out

Lastingham Grange is a step back in time. It is gorgeous, peaceful and just a really comfortable place to take afternoon tea. Nothing was too much for the attentive management and staff. The sandwiches were well prepared and very tasty. My partner does not eat bread so they prepared her a very tasty salad. Tea and hot water were replenished when wanted, and even after we took a walk in the gardens (see photos). The scones particularly were good - made with orange marmalade and orange peel in them - we had never seen anything like that before. and the manager seemed to be ready for our request for a box to take some of the cakes home - far too many to eat at one sitting. An Agatha Christie could be filmed here, it has that sort of atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back here, and probably stay for a couple of nights.

Had waited to use our voucher post lock down and staying in rosedale we found an ideal opportunity to visit Lastingham Grange. There was no problem with the booking and using the token and service we received at Lastingham Grange was superb. The food was excellent the location was lovely and the staff helpful and friendly...we will definitely revisit on our next trip to the are.

Went with Mum as a late Mother's Day outing. Although sunny, it was too cold to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the lovely garden, but had a wonderful afternoon tea in the comfy lounge. Lovely selection of sandwiches, home made cakes and the freshest, lightest scone I have ever tasted. We were offered plenty of good strong Yorkshire tea with hot water to dilute if required. Afterwards we walked it off visiting the Church and the picturesque village set on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors.
