Perfect romantic getaway

Got this package for my partners birthday and upgraded for a small cost for a slightly fancier hotel. Lovely area close to the lakes.

Trip to the lakes with a dog

The hotel was lovely, clean and accommodating. Lakes are beautiful. My issue is that I booked it for a present for my partner, not realising all the hidden costs and difficulty booking it. The advert stated it was holiday for 2 nights with a dog, when booking over 70% of the hotels were not pet friendly, even the first 2 we booked, although the website said that they were pet friendly, when I phoned direct they said they didn't take dogs. Eventually we located one that did but there was surcharges both for the stay and bringing a dog, nearly doubling the price. As stated the hotel was lovely.

We had this buy-a-gift as a Christmas present from our children. It's common knowledge that the Lakes is my favourite area in the UK so it was a great choice. The hotel we stayed in was lovely, right in the centre of Windermere.

Luxury two night B&B plus one evening meal

Although we have no quarrel with the hotel, we were unable to book the deal bought without paying extra, often by £200 or more.
On phoning we agreed change our gift to a 2night bed an breakfast, but even then we had to pay extra for the breakfast.
As this was a gift for our golden wedding anniversary, and was valid until 2023, it did not fulfil the promise of the gift bought.
The hotel itself was clean and the staff very friendly, even giving us a complimentary upgrade.
