Overview
Travel from the only coastal village in the Lake District National Park to the foot of the Scarfell Range, the tallest mountains in England, with this trip of the Ravenglass Railway. This beautiful scaled steam train will take you on a lazy seven-mile journey through some of Cumbria’s most scenic countryside as you travel through the Eskdale Valley, one of Wainwrights favourite walks. As part of the normal running rail service, you depart from Ravenglass and at Dalegarth, you will disembark to enjoy a scrumptious cream tea and sandwiches. Enjoy tasty scones with fruity jam and butter coupled of course, with a steamy pot of tea or coffee. A wonderfully relaxing and nostalgic day out!
What's included?
- A seven mile trip on the Ravenglass Railway on a steam or diesel powered train
- A delicious cream tea at either Ravenglass or Dalegrath Station
What do I need to know?

- Please note: there is restricted access for wheelchairs
- You must pre-book your experience, including the cream tea

- You are advised that this journey is part of the normal train service

Lovely day out

We did have a really lovely day on the steam train and the cream tea at the other end was certainly very nice. My only problem was that I could not book the tickets online with the voucher code so then had to phone but they were very helpful on the phone so all good ??

Have wanted to do this steam experience for a couple of year's, went yesterday and fully enjoyed it.
Was easy to book and board, nice train ride and cream tea was fantastic, a good selection of sandwiches and plenty.

The weather was warm with hazy sunshine. Perfect for the journey and return from Ravenglass and Dalegarth. The afternoons tea was totally enjoyable. We enjoyed the day very much and would recommend it.
