Gliding Experience Days: This exhilarating gliding experience takes you up to the clouds and back as you coast above the most beautiful views of the English countryside. Enjoy a calm and relaxed flight whilst taking in the natural scenery and vast landscapes the countryside below has to offer. Once you have ascended to 2000 feet you will have time to absorb the picturesque views and even take control of the flight if you feel up to it!Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your gliding experience will begin with the necessary paperwork, covering the declaration of flight.
Then, once the paperwork is complete you will meet the instructor and have a short safety briefing before getting ready for the main event! Once at the launch point you'll meet the launch marshal who is responsible for ensuring you get airborne. The glider will be taken up by a plane and once aloft, you can expect to glide from 2000 feet, which will take around 30 mins. You will be encouraged to take the controls yourself by the instructor if you feel comfortable, but it is of course entirely up to you.

Summer (April – September) – 7 days a week
October may be available, depending on the weather.
Requirements
Minimum Age: 14 Years Old
Those under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian's written consent. Those under 16 will require an adult to accompany them at the airfield.
Maximum Weight: 103kg, (228lbs, 16.4 stone).
Minimum Height: 152cm (5')
Maximum Height: 193cm (6'4") - Any height above this is difficult, please enquire if you are unsure.
You will need to seek medical advice if you suffer from any conditions:
Blackouts from any cause Ear disease
Epilepsy Defective vision
Severe head injury Migraine
Recurrent fainting or giddiness Diabetes of any form
High blood pressure Kidney stones
Angina Psychiatric disorders
Coronary artery disease Severe motion or travel sickness
Bronchitis Other conditions requiring
Asthma treatment with drugs
Sinus disease
In addition, pregnancy, minor illnesses, drugs, and the donation of blood may make you
temporarily unfit to fly, and you should seek medical advice before doing so.
Please note that you will not be able to fly if you're under the influence of alcohol.

Time Spent at Venue: 1:30
Expect to be at the centre for around 1.5 hours, with around15mins of gliding time once in the air.

Spectators are welcome to watch you depart on your flight.

What to Wear
Comfortable casual clothes are fine. All equipment is provided by the centre.
Weather
Rain, high winds or poor visibility restricts gliding. You should call the centre on the day before setting off.

This is an individual experience, based on one-to-one tuition between you and your instructor. There are no spare passenger seats.
Yes, the glider will be taken up by another plane and released when in the sky.

The supplier does not recommend this experience for someone with mobility issues. Please see our Microlight Flight for Wheelchair Users as an alternative option.
