Mamir of Groves is a lovely hotel set in a beautiful countryside setting. Check in was easy and all staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and dinner.

Don’t waste your money

We stayed here for one night as part of the deal. One night, 3 course meal and breakfast with use of spa facilities. First of all, the staff are nice and welcoming, some are a bit too young and just interested in chatting to each other than helping guests! The manager however, he really needs to be replaced! What a rude and incompetent person! Definitely shouldn’t be in this job role. The 3 course meal, was not good. The variety was very limited, and for the price you pay, is not worth it at all. They try to be posh, but sadly the chef is not up to the task. Food over cooked, dry and tasteless. Save your money. The restaurant was filthy, the glasses dirty as were the candle holders on the thanks and scum all round the bottom! With all the staff standing around doing nothing, am sure they could have been cleaning the glasses and candle holders etc. Maids start cleaning rooms (including next door to you), before 8am! So much for a relaxing break! The breakfast however, was very good! They had all you could want and all self service. That was enjoyable. We had a nice workout in the gym after (very small) but the equipment was good! Jacuzzi and swim after, but the sauna was out of order. It’s not a spa, it’s a small little place with leisure facilities. Be warned, they have child play at 3-5.30 everyday, so don’t expect to relax! Wish I knew that before I booked! Overall, a most regrettable purchase! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

Disappointed

The place is rundown. No customer service, whilst one or two people were ok, most of staff are very abrupt. Pool and leisure is ok apart from the little bits of moss here and there. I think the place needs a good deep clean and a lick of paint. Some TLC as it’s grotty throughout the hotel. A shame because views are lovely and the place has potential.

A nice little break
23 November 2021
Not a swanky place but okay. Had to enquire about the usage of the leisure facilities ( not a spa) and wasn’t told about necessity of booking it until we asked about it for the third time. Couldn’t book online so walked down to it to find out more. Evening meal was good and produced in a timely fashion. Breakfast was buffet style but nothing cooked or the milk was covered. There was no croissant or marmalade. available.
